The Gap We Saw
Track and field is one of the most participated sports in America. Millions of athletes compete every season — from 7-year-olds at their first AAU meet to high school seniors chasing state championships. And yet, walk into any sporting goods store and here’s what you’ll find: generic athletic apparel. Shirts that say “track” but mean nothing specific. Nothing for the hurdler who takes pride in their technique. Nothing for the quarter miler who owns the 400. Nothing for the field monster who dominates the throwing circle. We saw that gap. And we built Track Life Official to fill it.
Track Life Official started from a personal place.
I coached track and field for five years. I've stood on the infield at meets big and small, watched athletes develop from raw beginners into competitors, and seen firsthand what this sport does to a young person's identity. Track and field doesn't just build athletes — it builds character, discipline, and a pride in your specific event that stays with you for life.
I also watched it as a father.
My oldest son is a two-time California State Champion. My youngest placed third at the California State Championships his junior year. If you know California high school track, you know what that means — that state meet is one of the most competitive in the entire country. Watching my sons compete at that level, season after season, I saw something that kept bothering me.
These athletes — my sons, their teammates, every kid I coached — had incredible pride in their specific event. A hurdler doesn't just run track. A quarter miler doesn't just run track. They have an identity, a community, a culture built around their event. And there was nothing in the market that reflected that. No brand that looked a hurdler in the eye and said this was made for you.
That gap is why Track Life Official exists.
What We Stand For
Our mission is simple: create apparel that celebrates the lifestyle and culture of track and field at every level — from the youngest AAU/USATF competitor to the senior athlete heading to their final state championship. Every design is event-specific because every athlete is event-specific. A sprinter and a shot putter compete in the same sport but live completely different athletic lives. Both deserve a brand that sees them as individuals. That’s what Track Life Official is.
